Compliance Specialist Role Overview

This is a unique opportunity to join Smith+Nephew as a Compliance Specialist, where you will play a vital role in supporting the effective functioning of the Global Compliance Program.



Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessments for direct markets, distributors, and vendors, developing risk mitigation plans and ensuring their effective implementation.


• Lead third-party related compliance activities in the market, assessing due diligence reports, identifying red flags, and making recommendations on third-party use.


• Support the preparation of local procedures based on global policies, ensuring their communication to applicable employees.


• Conduct compliance trainings for employees, including new hire onboarding, role-specific training, refresher, and issue-based training.


• Develop and implement annual training, education, and communication plans for third parties.


• Conduct site visits and assessments of third parties, developing corrective actions and ensuring their timely closure.


• Support investigations, ensuring investigative processes are followed.


• Complete local monitoring programs to test the efficiency of compliance controls in the market.


• Drive the timely completion of corrective and preventive actions for Smith+Nephew and third-party businesses in the region.


• Support the effective functioning of key compliance controls relating to interactions with Healthcare Professionals.



Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a field related to compliance or law.


• Proven 3-4 years of experience working in a compliance program within a business, with dynamic responsibilities.


• Exposure in compliance within the Healthcare industry, preferably in Medical Devices.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics concisely.


• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to detect risk areas and red flags.


• Self-motivated and result-driven, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver on time.


• Ability to provide clear, pertinent, and timely advice to business stakeholders.
