Chef De Partie Role Description:

 

  • Prepare and cook a variety of special meals or dishes, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to achieve optimal cooking results.
  • Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator for preparation.
  • Ensure proper portion sizes, arrangement, and presentation of food items.
  • Maintain accurate records of food logs and inventory.
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food on a daily basis.
  • Communicate with colleagues during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Inform the head chef of excess food items that can be used for daily specials.
  • Keep the Food & Beverage service staff informed of menu specials and out-of-stock menu items.
  • Guarantee the quality of food items at all times.
  • Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
  • Prepare cold foods as needed.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model in the kitchen.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures regarding safety and security, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs promptly.
  • Speak clearly and professionally with others, using positive communication skills.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting the team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards throughout the kitchen.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time, and perform tasks that require reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required.
  • License or Certification: None.
