Job Title: Technical Liaison

The Technical Liaison role provides support and assistance to senior executives on strategic and technical matters, along with high-quality secretarial and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide input to technical studies/research projects, technical reports, project planning reports, etc., to be presented to senior executives.
  • Attend meetings with senior executives, responding to technical inquiries as appropriate; present technical knowledge and information on projects and services and provide answers when required.
  • Follow up on raised issues/points of action from meetings until they have been satisfactorily closed out.
  • Evaluate, review, and interpret technical inquiries on contractors/vendors, and provide recommendations to senior executives on both existing and potential contractors/vendors.
  • Track projects and the decision-making process for projects that require board and top-level committee approvals.
  • Aid senior executives in developing, coordinating, and implementing strategic plans of the organization and its affiliates.
  • Prepare dashboards representing the organizational progress of the organization with regards to each department's ongoing respective projects.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings on behalf of senior executives, reporting back and following up if required.
  • Assist senior executives in collating and presenting monthly departmental performance reports.
  • Ensure proper and timely follow-up on reports from units, departments, and divisions.
  • Research for and prepare speeches and presentations in various formats to support the activities of senior executives.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain technical databases and spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate senior executives' schedules of activities to ensure optimal utilization of time and resources.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • MBA will be an added advantage.
  • 5-7 years' experience working with senior executives or managing a business unit with technical responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to distinguish between and balance priorities within areas of responsibility while meeting short- and long-term goals.
  • Experience in liaising with relevant statutory bodies and contractors.
  • Excellent planning skills will be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of HSE and Engineering standards.
  • Experience in budget preparation and liaison with local bodies.
  • Ability to work well independently but also as part of a team.
