Lead Engineer - BIW

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of Body-In-White (BIW) structures and components.

  • Mechanical Engineer with 6-8 years of experience in Passenger Car production.
  • In-depth knowledge of Passenger Car BIW structure and assembly.
  • Strong experience in UG NX, Parametric Modelling, and surface modelling.
  • Experience in manufacturing and joining techniques of BIW structures.
  • Concept generation of BIW components using CAD design and develop BIW panels for the automotive industry.
  • Ability to create Master sections.
  • Interpretation of results of Structural, Static & Dynamic, manufacturing simulations for BIW Components.
  • In-depth knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFMA), manufacturing feasibility, tooling feasibility of BIW components.
  • Knowledge on materials, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Stack Up analysis.
  • Teamcenter knowledge is required.
  • Cost Optimization Ideas on components and assemblies.
  • Involved in design reviews and packaging reviews for solutions and quick actions.
  • Aware of prototyping activities and builds.
  • Understanding program requirements and managing deliverables accordingly.
  • Project plan and team handling.
  • Coordination with cross-functional teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Passenger Car production.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD design and Teamcenter software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
