Key HR Leader Position

This pivotal role focuses on driving impactful people systems that foster a culture built on integrity and ownership.

The ideal candidate is a strategic builder who can design processes from first principles, ensure accountability, champion high integrity, deliver tough feedback kindly, and align people practices to business impact.

The Key HR Leader will work closely with the founder and leaders to advocate for employees and hold all team members, including leadership, to high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design people processes (OKRs, KRAs/KPIs, review systems, hiring frameworks, and conflict mediation) from scratch.
  • Ensure every role has clarity on goals and standards.
  • Surface uncomfortable truths and ethical blind spots without fear or favor.
  • Deliver candid, compassionate, and sometimes difficult conversations with founders and staff.
  • Align people practices to business outcome: retention, productivity, revenue, or morale.
  • Model maturity and ownership by owning mistakes, learning fast, leading by example, and setting the tone.

You Must Have:

  • Uncompromising ethics: A provable record of doing the right thing, even in the face of pressure or risk.
  • Builder's mindset: Hands-on experience creating HR/process systems in unstructured, fast-moving environments.
  • Real business partnership: You think in terms of business outcomes, not activity.
  • Candor + courage: Able to deliver honest feedback upwards, downwards, and sideways, without losing empathy or humility.
  • Maturity and self-awareness: Able to admit when wrong, and learn from it. Don't create or tolerate drama.
