Loan Operations Manager

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing end-to-end loan processing activities while ensuring operational efficiency, risk control, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as a checker for assigned activities diligently.
  • Work as a subject matter expert (SME) for the process.
  • Nurture team members to achieve high performance.
  • Understand bank processes and policies, adhering to needs.
  • Collaborate with overseas branches to process transactions accurately and within quality standards.
  • Learn system functions and adhere to controls.
  • Support overseas branches in resolving operational incidents and reporting.
  • Provide suggestions to improve operational processes.

Customer Focus:

  • Deliver high-quality service to enhance reputation and meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders.
  • Support and resolve customer inquiries with excellent customer service.
  • Work with Compliance to understand operational guidelines, standard procedures, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with the operations team for information sharing and accurate transaction processing.
  • Support developmental projects related to the Department.

People Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing loan operations team.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Assist in training and development of individuals to ensure high job knowledge.
  • Provide SME support, nurture team members, and create backup systems.
  • Guide and train new joiners and junior staff.

Operational Control:

  • Perform checking processes on operational issues escalated by team members.
  • Reconcile daily pending transactions.
  • Support the Head of Department in determining level of support for new MUFG product offerings.
  • Support achieving department KPIs set by Branch Management.
  • Manage risk profile for the department.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, laws, and regulations.
  • Adhere to company policies and guidelines.
  • Timely submission of Statutory and MIS reports.
  • Conduct necessary trainings to the team.
  • Manage testing and new migrations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in managing Loan Operations.
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office).
  • Extensive experience in Loan Products, static data maintenance, and customer data management.
  • Understanding various system applications used for Lending.
  • Hands-on experience in managing stakeholders, governance, and toll gates.
  • Flexible in working in shifts.
  • Exposure to India related regulatory guidelines and financial regulations.
  • Graduate and/or Post Graduate.
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal courteously and effectively with others.
  • Attention to details.
