Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

This position is responsible for ensuring systems and application uptime in a high-availability customer-facing business critical SaaS environment. Uptime is critical and requires immediate response to service impacting issues.

You will work with a dynamic and independent team of development engineers and other functions to provision cloud resources for hosted solutions. You will drive DevOps automation activities in collaboration with engineering teams, sizing/tuning of cloud resources, and automated alerting/monitoring tools for services and infrastructure resources.

This position is based at our office in Bangalore, India. Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining infrastructure and Bottomline solutions hosted in the private and public cloud. Application release management, configuration, upgrades, and support of Java microservices, open-source tools, and third-party services in a SaaS environment are also required.

Key responsibilities include identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex technology issues efficiently in live production environments. You will work closely with the Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure team to escalate issues for triage and resolution. You will lead cloud automation initiatives to avoid recurrence of issues and trigger automated action to improve system availability.

You will establish automated proactive monitoring of all systems/services/networks to detect and resolve problems to ensure uninterrupted operation of all infrastructure systems. Leading implementation of DevSecOps practices in collaboration with the Security team is also required. Collaborating with Architects and engineering teams in preparing scalable network and deployment architecture covering failover and DR setup is another key responsibility.

Required skills include a strong understanding of the end-to-end software development life cycle using CI/CD tools like Jenkins/GitLab, Argo CD, Helm Charts. Good understanding of systems (Unix/Linux, open source, JVM) and networking (TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, VPN, routing tables), load balancer (F5), and firewall setup is also required. Proficient in configuring and managing IIS (Internet Information Services), experience in container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, and VMware is necessary.

Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Ansible Script, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, scripting, and monitoring tools (ELK) is also required. Proficient in configuring and managing Apache web server and their configuration is another key requirement. Experience with different queuing systems like RabbitMQ, Kafka, Microsoft SQL server, etc., Web Server/Application Server deployments and administration, understanding of Windows Servers, Windows Operating System, multi-tier architecture, Web-based development, and Services Oriented Architecture is necessary.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to prioritize and balance activity between strategic projects for longer-term impact and immediate production-critical requirements with a customer focus is also required. Ability to take on-call rotation and coordinate work under production-critical situations is essential.

Preferred skills include passion for learning and mastering information technology, experience in DevOps tools and automation, basic understanding of Database (Postgres), IAM (Key Cloak), and Java Programming language.

Experience and Education: 3+ years of experience in system setup, configuration, diagnosis, and monitoring of Enterprise-grade SaaS services. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field.
