Job Title:

Treasury Specialist

">Job Summary:

The Treasury Specialist plays a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's financial operations, liquidity management, foreign exchange exposures, and investments. This individual must possess strong corporate treasury experience, exceptional financial acumen, and effective partnering skills to optimize cash, risk, and funding strategies.

Liquidity & Cash Management:

  • Manage daily cash flows to ensure optimal liquidity across geographies.
  • Forecast short-term and long-term cash requirements for informed decision-making.
  • Support automation initiatives such as host-to-host payments to streamline operations.

Foreign Exchange & Risk Management:

  • Monitor FX exposures and execute hedging strategies in accordance with established policies.
  • Calculate MTM valuations and prepare exposure reports to inform investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with banks on FX negotiations and derivative instruments to minimize risk.

Investments & Fund Management:

  • Evaluate and recommend investment options (FDs, money markets, bonds, etc.) based on risk-return trade-offs.
  • Assess compliance with investment policies and maintain accurate records of portfolio performance.
  • Track P&L and maintain investment registers to ensure transparency.

Banking & Compliance:

  • Negotiate banking terms with domestic and international banks to reduce the cost of borrowing.
  • Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines and internal treasury policies to avoid penalties.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare MIS, dashboards, and treasury reports for leadership to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with accounting and audit teams for seamless integration and accuracy.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of corporate treasury operations, including liquidity, FX, and investments.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, MS Excel, and treasury management systems (TMS) is essential.
  • Familiarity with hedging instruments, derivatives, and investment options is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills are required for effective partnership-building.

Qualifications:

  • MBA in Finance or CFA/FRM certification is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant corporate treasury experience is necessary.
  • Banking experience alone is not considered sufficient for this role.
