Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to head our accounts and finance function in Pune.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing end-to-end accounts and finance operations within the manufacturing industry, preferably metals/steel sector.

  1. Financial Management & Strategy
  • Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Develop strategies to optimize cost, improve margins, and enhance cash flow management.
  • Monitor financial performance against business goals and provide insights for informed decision-making.
  1. Accounts & Reporting
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to maintain compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and oversee accounting team performance to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
  • Stay updated with regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing and metal sector to ensure seamless compliance.
  1. Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC filings, and other applicable laws to avoid penalties.
  • Liaise with internal auditors and ensure timely completion of audits to maintain high levels of integrity.
  • Build strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors to secure funding and project financing opportunities.
  1. Treasury & Working Capital Management
  • Manage cash flows, banking operations, and fund utilization efficiently to optimize working capital and minimize costs.
  • Oversee working capital management, credit control, and debtor management to ensure timely payments and minimal defaults.
  • Develop and present periodic MIS reports to management for financial performance tracking and strategic decision-making.
  1. Cost Control & MIS
  • Implement effective cost accounting systems and monitor production-related costs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support business units with financial analysis to aid in pricing, costing, and investment decisions.
  • Establish strong internal controls and processes across the department to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Experience: 8 - 15 year's post CA qualification experience in Accounts & Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in manufacturing (preferably metals/steel sector).
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, statutory compliance, cost control, and treasury management.
  • Proven track record in handling audits, liaising with banks, and managing working capital.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
