Investment Research Expert

This role involves supporting the investment team by conducting comprehensive financial analysis and research. Key responsibilities include building and updating complex financial models with scenario analysis, performing various valuation methods such as DCF, relative, SOTP, and other relevant techniques.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed financial models with scenario analysis to support investment decisions.
  • Carry out DCF, relative, SOTP, and other valuation methods to determine company valuations.
  • Develop accurate assumptions and valuations with clear rationale.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify potential investment opportunities and assist portfolio managers/CIOs in their decision-making process.
  • Discuss investment ideas and stock updates with senior management.
  • Prepare earnings reviews, previews, attend conference calls, and management meetings.
  • Develop pitch notes/presentations, industry, and thematic notes.
  • Manage and maintain databases, including collecting and analyzing news.
  • Respond to ad hoc research requests from stakeholders.

  • Expertise in financial modeling and research report-writing/presentation making skills.
  • Able to analyze drivers and KPIs across diverse sectors.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple workflows under tight deadlines.
  • Numerical abilities.
  • Build complex, error-free models with well-defined revenue/cost driver assumptions.
  • Conduct earnings sensitivity analysis.
  • Provide own valuation views after carrying out relative, DCF-based or industry appropriate valuations.
  • Write reports in a logical and structured manner that requires minimal rework.
  • Summarize complex information into bulletins and one-page summaries.
  • Link macro/industry analysis to output.
  • Develop effective presentations.
  • Collect and summarize news; provide analysis that adds value; prepare charts, tables, and databases.
  • Familiarity with technologies: Python, SQL, Power BI, etc is advantageous.
