Job Title:

Cruelty to Animals Investigator

Job Summary:

Animal welfare investigators conduct in-depth investigations into animal cruelty and exploitation. They travel to various locations, gather evidence, and collaborate with experts to assess findings and prepare detailed reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research on animal protection laws and issues
  • Investigate industries that use animals, obtaining relevant documents, and maintaining confidentiality
  • Document conditions and use of animals through photography and videography
  • Assess evidence for violations of laws and work with experts to validate findings
  • Prepare detailed reports of investigations, including clear narratives and recommendations
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times and adhere to department standard operating procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Experience in investigative journalism or a related field is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required
  • Basic veterinary knowledge or experience is a plus
  • Fluency in English and Hindi is required, with fluency in other Indian languages a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Able to conduct in-depth research using various means and make sound judgments independently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle stress and trauma
  • Willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods is required
