Key Performance Indicators of a Site Reliability Engineer

About the Job:

This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality services.

Job Responsibilities:
  • System Design and Implementation: Develop and implement scalable, high-availability systems and architectures that meet business requirements.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with development teams, QA engineers, and operations staff to ensure seamless integration of services and applications.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Develop and maintain monitoring tools and scripts to identify and resolve system issues promptly.
  • Performance Improvement: Analyze system logs and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance overall system reliability and performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, with a strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with performance testing and engineering, scalability, and availability, as well as knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Splunk, AppD, Prometheus, Fluentd, ELK, Dynatrace, and AppDynamics.
  • Excellent communication and business presentation skills.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with software engineering and development skills: .NET, Go, Python, C++, Ruby, or Java.
  • Knowledge of automation across applications/services and infrastructure management.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and capacity planning models.

Prior Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
