Internal Control Specialist - Process Improvement

Job Description:

As a seasoned Internal Control Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting independent reviews of internal controls to ensure timely reporting and implementation of control processes. Your focus will be on identifying opportunities for process simplification, standardization, and automation to strengthen internal controls and reduce inefficiencies.

You will work closely with the location management teams during audits, assisting with preparation, auditor liaison, response development, and closure of deficiencies. Additionally, you will analyze accounting documents for compliance with US GAAP, Indian Accounting Standards, and company policy.

Your expertise in risk assessment and mitigation strategies will be invaluable in identifying and addressing potential risks across functional areas. You will also be responsible for sharing best practices across regions and supporting the completion of mandatory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site internal control reviews and implement corrective actions.
  • Undertake special projects to simplify and standardize processes, reducing inaccuracies and workload.
  • Assess all areas of risks and implement complete risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate the completion of mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Share best practices across regions.
  • Support location management teams during audits.
  • Obtain, analyze, and evaluate accounting documents for compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant with at least 8 years of experience in internal audit/accounting audit/internal control roles, with 4 years in a Big 4 environment.
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments with cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to perform Process Audit and Month close review independently.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and Indian Accounting standards.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • High adaptability and ability to work well under ambiguity.
  • Great attitude in high-pressure situations with negotiation and influence skills.
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, and self-directed with a 'can do' outlook.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project).
  • Experience in QAD and Hyperion is highly preferred.
