Database Developer Position

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer to join our team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining SQL Server database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers). Additionally, they will optimize T-SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans for high performance. The ideal candidate will also support cross-platform integration with Oracle databases (PL/SQL) and build and maintain ETL pipelines (primarily using SSIS; Oracle ETL exposure is a plus).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop SQL Server database objects including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Optimize T-SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans for improved database performance.
  • Support cross-platform integration with Oracle databases using PL/SQL.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines primarily using SSIS and ensure compatibility with Oracle ETL tools.
  • Implement and monitor database security, backup, recovery, and high availability features.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, blocking/deadlocks, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with application developers to design normalized and scalable data structures.
  • Support database upgrades, migrations, and integrations between SQL Server and Oracle.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6-7 years of total IT experience with 5-6 years in SQL Server database development.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022).
  • Hands-on T-SQL development (stored procedures, triggers, functions, views).
  • Proven skills in performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL (procedures, packages, functions).
  • Hands-on experience with SSIS or equivalent ETL tools.
  • Strong knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with database version control and CI/CD deployment practices.
