Job Title: Server Management Administrator

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-level technical support in accordance with customer service level agreements.
  • Perform daily compute operations, including events, incidents, and problem management, following ITIL best practices.
  • Install, maintain, monitor, decommission, and configure servers for special tasks beyond automated processes.
  • Manage storage operations based on NetApp NFS protocols.
  • Oversee package and repository management, as well as OS image maintenance.
  • Implement patch management using Blade Logic Automation tools.
  • Configure and roll out server-related monitoring and alert systems.
  • Analyze performance data and conduct root cause analysis for customer incidents.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-6 years' experience in server management administration, preferably with Linux operating systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux OS operations.
  • Familiarity with hypervisor operations, including XEN and VMware.
  • Good understanding of LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in server downtime situations.
  • Experience with physical server management.
  • Associate-level knowledge of at least one public cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Basic knowledge of automation tools, like Chef, and scripting languages, including Bash and Perl.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge or experience with GitHub and Jira would be beneficial.
  • Any experience with monitoring using Prometheus on Docker setups and/or ELK stacks would be advantageous, though not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of central infrastructure services, such as security groups, RPM, Rsync, mail, Active Directory, Chef automation, Nagios, repository management, and monitoring, is highly recommended.

Working Hours:

The role requires a willingness to participate in an on-call setup, which may include weekends or public holidays if required by the project.
