Senior Engineering Leadership Role

This role is a senior engineering position that involves leading project work, mentoring junior team members, and liaising with a global team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare feasibility study reports to meet client requirements in agreed formats, reviewed by the Project Lead.
  • Collaborate with a global team to assemble design specifications compliant with employer requirements.
  • Agree and monitor project scope with the Project Lead.
  • Define building requirements and purposes of use with the Project Lead and global team for detailed design.
  • Conduct detailed design according to client requirements, standard codes, QA, technical review, and sign-off by the Project Lead.
  • Review and monitor production of calculations, including QA and technical reviews.
  • Ensure project costing information is completed on time, and keep the global team informed about design progress.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents and review team member input.
  • Lead the design process and encourage the team to deliver cost-effective solutions within agreed programmes.
  • Adhere to document control and QA processes for project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence are issued and filed properly.
  • Manage a team of Engineers and Revit Technicians.
Key Competencies / Skills
  • Proven experience in designing Building Structures, preferably in a similar role or demonstrating a good track record.
  • Excellent presentation skills are required.
  • Familiarity with technical structural software like RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD is essential.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project is necessary.
  • Fluency in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology is required.
  • Demonstrate strong management, communication, and technical skills, capable of working both individually and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be a member of an accredited engineering body. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is desirable. Minimum 12 years of experience is expected.
