About this role:

Morningstar DBRS is looking for a Quantitative Analyst to join its Structured Finance Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong problem-solving, analytical and technical mindset. This position involves managing a team of offshore analysts, providing support on automating data analysis processes, building and running data analytics to aid rating, research and surveillance processes, developing and enhancing data analysis, data visualization and workflow optimization tools.

  • Lead a team of 6-8 analysts, providing guidance on technological enhancements and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Manage work priorities, ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery schedules, periodic reporting on work performance and project reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Global Structured Finance Analytics team and Credit Technology team on assigned tasks, priorities and applications under development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Transform, improve and integrate data based on business requirements.
  • Understand core concepts around data storage and access in structured data systems such as databases (SQL, Athena, AWS S3).
  • Implement quick fix solutions to align development activities with dynamic business needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, organizing and studying data from internal and external sources for use in criteria development, ratings and research reports. Strong analytical skills are essential, along with expertise in Python, Tableau, AWS, Athena, SQL and VBA. Experience with SAS/R is a plus, and familiarity with AWS infrastructure is considered an added advantage.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 9-11 years of relevant experience working in Credit Modeling/Model Validation roles.
  • Qualifications: MBA (Finance)/BTech/PHD (Math) from a Tier I college.
  • Knowledge of finance, statistics and behavioral sciences.
