This position plays a vital role in safeguarding the financial well-being of banks, merchants, and cardholders by implementing robust chargeback management strategies.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily chargebacks efficiently to minimize exposure for all parties involved.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and maintain accurate documentation to defend against unwarranted chargebacks.
  • Analyze dispute data to identify high-risk merchants, transactions, or patterns leading to chargebacks.
  • Collaborate with merchants to implement fraud prevention tools, transaction verification processes, and best practices to reduce disputes.
  • Share insights with stakeholders to improve dispute resolution rates and loss ratios.
  • Design, implement, and continually optimize operational processes for chargeback handling and dispute resolution.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, ensuring adherence to internal risk policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Balance risk mitigation with service delivery to protect profitability while ensuring positive customer experience.
  • Partner with product, promotions, and operations teams to assess risk impact of new initiatives and campaigns.
  • Provide input during product design and rollout to ensure risk controls are embedded from inception.
  • Support business decisions by presenting data-driven insights and risk impact assessments.
  • Maintain compliance with Visa, Mastercard, JCB, CUP, Diners, and other card scheme chargeback regulations.
