Database Role Overview

As a seasoned Database Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's database systems.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques. With expertise in SQL and experience with database scripting languages, they will be able to design and implement high-performance databases that meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database architectures for scalability, security, and performance.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and resource management.
  • Develop and maintain robust database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
  • Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patching.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
  • Experience with database backup and recovery, security, and high availability solutions.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
  • Expertise in Redshift administration, including cluster management, performance optimization, workload management, IAM policies, and role-based access control.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Ability to automate routine database tasks using scripting languages and tools.
