Payroll Specialist Role Overview

This role involves delivering expert payroll services to ensure seamless employee compensation and compliance. Key responsibilities include accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records in HR systems, and adhering to labor laws and tax regulations.

Additional tasks involve coordinating with HR for employee onboarding/offboarding, promotions, and other payroll-impacting changes. The Payroll Specialist will also handle payroll deductions, benefits, garnishments, bonuses, and other compensation-related components.

To achieve these goals, the ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, along with 2+ years of payroll processing experience. Strong knowledge of payroll software and HRIS systems is also essential, as well as familiarity with local labor laws and payroll compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees (monthly, bi-weekly, etc.).
  • Maintain payroll records and employee data in HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate with HR for employee onboarding/offboarding, promotions, and other payroll-impacting changes.
  • Handle payroll deductions, benefits, garnishments, bonuses, and other compensation-related components.
  • Prepare payroll reports for internal use and external audits.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and earnings.
  • Collaborate with Finance to reconcile payroll-related accounts.
  • Assist with year-end activities such as tax form distribution (e.g., W-2, Form 16).
  • Stay updated with changes in payroll laws and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience (or as specified).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, SAP, Workday).
  • Familiarity with local labor laws and payroll compliance regulations.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
