About the Role

As part of our ongoing growth, we are expanding our engineering team to include experts who can push the boundaries of aerospace simulation and design. If you have a passion for advanced CFD simulations and aerodynamics, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup, run, and analyze CFD simulations in OpenFOAM for 2D airfoils, 3D wings, and full aircraft models.
  • Handle flow regimes ranging from incompressible to hypersonic conditions.
  • Select appropriate solvers, turbulence models, and thermophysical models based on simulation needs.
  • Generate high-quality meshes using OpenFOAM's native meshing tools or external pre-processors.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation of pre-processing, simulation control, and post-processing.
  • Extract and interpret aerodynamic performance metrics, such as lift, drag, pressure distribution, and shock characteristics.
  • Validate CFD results through comparison with experimental data or established literature.
  • Document simulation setups, assumptions, and findings for internal use and reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with OpenFOAM for aerodynamic simulations.
  • Strong knowledge of aerodynamics and fluid mechanics, including compressible and incompressible flows.
  • Ability to simulate complex geometries, including full aircraft configurations.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for CFD automation.
  • Experience with mesh generation tools compatible with OpenFOAM.
