Job Description

The Strategic Programme Lead will play a pivotal role in advancing the organisation's programme portfolio. This involves designing, steering and scaling impactful initiatives with emphasis on effective planning, cross-sectoral integration and outcome-oriented delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.
  • Oversee select programme areas to ensure timely high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals.
  • Provide guidance to project teams to strengthen operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Engage with implementing agencies knowledge partners and peer organisations to strengthen programme outcomes.
  • Represent the organisation in external forums as required.
  • Provide mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles.
  • Encourage a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
  • Ensure effective systems for tracking progress capturing lessons and adapting strategies.
  • Support preparation of reports presentations and knowledge products.
  • Contribute inputs to budget planning and monitor utilisation in assigned programme areas.
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and team management skills with ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships. Excellent communication and analytical abilities are also essential. The candidate should have demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into results. Additionally they must be able to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts.
