Category Manager - FMCG

  • The ideal candidate will oversee the Category FMCG team, managing and guiding a large group of professionals in their roles. He or she will be responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the category.
  • Key responsibilities include leading a team of experienced professionals, conducting training sessions, both on-the-job and in-classroom, to develop and groom team members.
  • He/she will work closely with various teams, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, Purchase, and Central Purchase to ensure smooth business operations and maximize sales.
  • Regular meetings with key vendor partners are necessary to negotiate deals, plan demand, and discuss promotions.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing monthly and quarterly plans with vendors to ensure smooth supplies and meet customer demands.
  • Must have excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong understanding of the local market, language, and culture is required.

Requirements:

  • Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA degree with at least 10 years of experience in FMCG Sales.
  • General Trade experience is highly desirable. Previous experience in managing similar roles is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of the local language and location is required.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively within the region assigned and across India.
