Climate Innovation Venture Specialist

We are seeking a talented Climate Innovation Venture Specialist to support our team in driving climate solutions and sustainable innovation.

About the Role

  • Investment Research and Sourcing: Assist in identifying potential investment opportunities through research and preliminary outreach, leveraging expertise in climate-focused investments.
  • Due Diligence Assistance: Support the team in financial analysis, market validation, and data collection for potential deals, applying strong analytical skills specific to early-stage investments.
  • Investment Process Support: Help prepare investment memos, presentations, and supporting documentation, ensuring seamless communication with stakeholders.
  • Portfolio Performance Analysis: Conduct tracking performance and impact metrics and conduct basic analyses for portfolio companies, providing actionable insights for growth.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct sectoral research to inform investment theses and track trends in climate tech and sustainability, enhancing the team's knowledge base.
  • Ecosystem Engagement: Help coordinate GFC's presence at events and build databases of relevant ecosystem players, fostering partnerships and collaborations.

Requirements and Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, finance, or related fields from a premier institution, demonstrating academic excellence.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in investment banking, consulting, venture capital, or startup roles; climate-focused work experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills specific to early-stage investments, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, passion for climate innovation and sustainability.
