Job Summary:
The Senior Merchandising Manager is responsible for leading a team of merchandisers to drive sales and profitability through effective category management. The role involves overseeing the development and implementation of category plans, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring seamless business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category plans that align with business objectives, focusing on demand planning, promotions, and supply management.
- Lead a team of merchandisers in buying national and regional FMCG brands, conducting training sessions, and grooming team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including store operations, supply chain, and purchasing, to maximize sales and minimize costs.
- Ensure product availability in distribution centers and stores, maintaining competitive pricing and being willing to travel across locations within the region and pan-India.
Requirements:
- Must be a graduate or postgraduate with minimum 10 years of experience in FMCG sales, preferably in general trade.
- Experience in managing similar roles is required, along with knowledge of local languages and willingness to travel.
- Good communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are necessary, as well as strong team management and training skills to manage a large team effectively.
