Job Title: Database Optimization Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Optimization Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and data analysis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting database operations, including performance monitoring, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. You will operate in an Oracle environment, focusing on Exadata database re-platforming efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support ongoing database re-platforming efforts to Exadata.
  • Implement data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication.
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.
  • Work with Oracle 12c/Oracle 19c/Exadata added capabilities and functionality.
  • Develop strong programming skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers).
  • Proficient in performance tuning using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
  • Manage database objects like table space, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles, and synonyms.

You will work closely with data architects, data analysts, and database owners to support both short-term work requests and long-term strategy implementation.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including experience in Oracle Exadata.
  • Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing.
  • Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and agile methodology.
  • Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
