Director of Innovation and Development

This role oversees the development function, driving product innovation and technical excellence. The incumbent will lead the team, manage operations, align initiatives with business objectives, and drive product development to meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement a product innovation strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize projects and initiatives.
  • Develop business cases for new product innovations and improvements.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the development team.
  • Oversee product development, formulation improvements, prototyping, and testing.
  • Monitor budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure intellectual property strategy (patents, trade secrets) aligns with research outputs.
  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure product readiness and market fit.
  • Translate R&D outcomes into commercially viable offerings.
  • Facilitate technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Stay up to date with scientific, technological, and market trends.
  • Ensure documentation, certification, and audit-readiness of processes.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
