This is a hybrid position that involves database technology and infrastructure. The individual will be involved in the build and run activities related to database platforms, such as DB2 LUW and NoSQL technologies like MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and deployment of databases in high SLA environments.
  • Manage and support database technology and infrastructure, adhering to architectural guidelines and policies.
  • Plan and define prerequisites for database implementation, including operating system, storage, and network requirements.
  • Perform database administration tasks, ensuring continuous 24x7 operation and availability for mission-critical business applications.
  • Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, and maintain DB2 LUW databases in production and non-production environments.
  • Support local failover with TSA and High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) environment.
  • Write/maintain OS level scripts for DB automation and application maintenance.
  • Implement databases, storage structures, high-availability solutions, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues.
  • Work closely with other engineering teams, product development, business operations, and technical operations to ensure delivery of database services within SLAs and performance targets.

Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other technology field is a must.
  • 4 to 5 years of DBA experience, generally with DB2 LUW and exposure to NoSQL database like Cassandra.
