Senior Accountant Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and verifying financial statements, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and verify Purchase & Sales Bills, match with POs, invoices, and supplementary bills.
  • Cash Management: Control cash flow, prepare vouchers, and make daily transaction entries in accounting books/ERP.
  • Creditor Management: Manage creditors and make vendor payments via NEFT/RTGS.
  • Liaison Services: Handle LC documentation and liaise with bankers for daily operations.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
  • Salary and Attendance: Compute salaries and wages, maintain Salary and Attendance Registers.
  • Stock Statements: Prepare monthly stock statements for banks (Cash Credit facility).
  • Account Finalization: Assist in finalizing accounts (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
  • Official Correspondence: Draft official letters related to accounts and statutory matters.
  • MIS Reports: Prepare MIS reports for management.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Taxation: Compute TDS, file returns, issue Form 16/16A, advance tax computation, and ITR filing.
  • GST: Register, amend, generate challans, file GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B, annual returns, refunds, audits, and E-Way bills.
  • PF & ESI: Make monthly contributions, generate UAN, transfer/withdraw funds, employee registration under PF/ESI.
  • Legacy Compliances: File VAT/CST, Excise Duty – reconciliations, and audit support.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Minimum B.Com (Accounting/Finance), preferred M.Com or specialization in Finance/Accounts.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Indian Taxation, GST, TDS, PF/ESI, and statutory compliance.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally, ERP systems, analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple statutory timelines.
