Process Conversion Leader

This role leads process package conversion from process technology to kilo/pilot plant and commercial scale, requiring strong engineering and operational expertise.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Basic and detailed engineering of process packages, including design and implementation.
  • Kilo lab and pilot plant operations, with a focus on ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Driving asset efficiencies through effective planning and management.

This role is responsible for both strategic and operational aspects, including:

Strategic Responsibilities:
  • Defining Designs: Developing cost-effective designs that balance process efficiency with other business considerations.
  • Maintaining Industry Awareness: Staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive.
  • Implementing New Systems: Overseeing the introduction of new systems and processes to improve operational efficiency.
Operational and Financial Responsibilities:
  • Planning Feasibility Studies: Leading feasibility studies, scale-up trials, and technology transfer projects to ensure successful implementation.
  • Supporting Process Technology: Collaborating with Process Technology to develop special equipment and enhance operational capabilities.
  • Pilot Plant Operations: Overseeing pilot plant operations and data development to inform business decisions.
  • Developing Process Design Manuals: Creating and maintaining process design manuals and procuring software to support operational excellence.
  • Scale-Up Trials: Defining objectives and strategies for scale-up trials to ensure successful commercialization.
  • New Technologies: Identifying and implementing new technologies to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Quality, Yield, and Productivity: Ensuring high standards of quality, yield, and productivity across all operational areas.
  • Process Improvements: Analyzing parameters to identify opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes as needed.
  • Statutory Regulations: Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and industry standards.
People Responsibilities:
  • Building Skills: Recommending initiatives to build skills and competencies across the organization.
  • Workforce Capacity: Reviewing workforce capacity gaps and implementing timely recruitment strategies.
  • Performance Management: Sponsoring the performance management process to drive individual and team success.
  • Recognizing Excellence: Recognizing and rewarding excellent performers to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Inspiring Employees: Inspiring and motivating employees to achieve their full potential.

Requirements:

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from reputable institutions like IIT/NIT.
  • 20-25 years of experience in technology transfer and operational roles.
  • Strong understanding of process safety principles.
  • Knowledge of process design, scale-up, and commissioning of commercial plants.
