Restaurant Host/Hostess Job Description

About the Role

The role involves ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining positive relationships with guests and colleagues, and adhering to hotel policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times, ensuring that every guest feels valued and respected.
  • Work closely with other outlet employees in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
  • Maintain par stocks of all equipment and guest supplies as required.
  • Seat guests, take orders, and serve food and beverage according to the established sequence and procedures.
  • Present menu, answer enquiries, and make suggestions regarding food, beverage, and service to restaurant guests.
  • Clear and reset counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
  • Be fully conversant with all aspects of the Micros System.
  • Compute bill and accept payment.
  • Perform the function of cashier as required.
  • Verify cash received, ensuring only genuine money has been collected.

Other Duties:

  • Understand and strictly adhere to rules and regulations established in the Employee Handbook and the hotel's policies concerning fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
  • Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
  • Respond to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company, and hotel.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
  • Exercise responsible behavior at all times and positively represent the hotel and Hyatt International.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
