Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to lead and manage all litigation processes initiated by the organization against clients and vice-versa. This includes handling cases under various sections such as Consumer, Criminal, Civil, and Section Cheque bounce.


Key Responsibilities

  • Timely filing and handling cases in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Service of notice, summons, and other legal documents.
  • Drafting and replying to notices.
  • Managing arbitration and conciliation proceedings.
  • Conducting Lok Adalats and executions.
  • Handling matters filed under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
  • Initiating arbitration proceedings.
  • Proceeding in non-litigated contracts.
  • Sending and replying to notices.
  • Preparing and vetting statements and witness statements.
  • Filing cases and handling matters related to the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC).
  • Appointing external solicitors from an empaneled list to represent the organization in court proceedings.
  • Liaising with advocates on a regular basis to facilitate provision of all required information and review status of ongoing litigations.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable statutory requirements and processes.
  • Managing SARFAESI process and proceedings.
  • Identifying ways to minimize litigations and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluating and assessing risks associated with contracts.
  • Providing legal support for customer negotiations.
  • Liaising with external counsels.
  • Responsible for maintaining management information systems and legal reports.
