Senior Litigation Specialist - Power Sector

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's litigation and dispute resolution procedures, ensuring a seamless and cost-effective delivery of legal services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing complex litigation cases, including matters related to ROW compensation under Electricity and Telegraph Act, Land Acquisition, Arbitration, Constitutional matters, claims, contractual disputes, and criminal cases.
  • Representing or assisting in matters before Writ Courts, District Courts, DRT, Claim Tribunal, Consumer Courts, etc., providing expert advice on legal positions and latest court decisions.
  • Drafting, vetting, and finalizing SLP, writ petitions, civil suits, criminal complaints, Claim petitions, counter affidavits, replies, and replications, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Briefing senior and external legal counsels on matters, coordinating daily updates on pending cases, and monitoring Legal MIS for effective control and management.
  • Developing and implementing litigation strategies aligned with the company's objectives, managing high-stake cases, and delivering pragmatic, prompt, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Advising on legal positions, drafting contracts, and reviewing contract terms to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Ensuring company compliance with statutory and legal requirements by advising management on legal rights, risks, and liabilities.
  • Conducting thorough risk analysis before entering into commercial and financial agreements and drafting legal agreements.
  • Familiarity with procedural practices of courts and knowledge of related statutes.

Requirements:

  • LLB qualification
  • 8-12 years of extensive work experience in handling litigation, preferably in the power sector
  • Good understanding of construction/EPC/Infrastructure sector
  • Candidate preferably from Infrastructure Sector or with Law Firm background

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of legal principles and procedures
  • Ability to draft and negotiate contracts
