Senior Hydrologist for Dam Safety and Emergency Planning

We seek a highly skilled Senior Hydrologist with extensive experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, dam safety inspection, and emergency planning. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of mathematical models used in hydrology and the ability to lead complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation and finalization of Tier-I documents following international best practices and national guidelines.
  • Provide technical support for the development and finalization of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultation meetings and review plans presented in Project Support Teams (PSTs).
  • Design and deliver customized training courses on Dam Break Analysis, Inundation Mapping, and Emergency Action Plans.
  • Conduct capacity building programs for DRIP Implementing Agencies (IAs) and perform integrated flood routing studies for cascades of reservoirs.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Civil Engineering with postgraduate degree in Hydraulic or Hydrology.
  • At least 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling using advanced tools like MIKE and HEC_HMS.
  • Expertise in dam safety inspection, emergency planning, and inundation mapping.
  • Strong technical knowledge of BIS Codes and national guidelines/manuals.
