Network Services Engineer

Our organization is seeking a Network Services Engineer to create and improve network services and solutions that ensure the best experience possible for our associates and contractors.

The primary goal of this position is to focus on designing, engineering, implementing, and optimizing LAN/WAN/WiFi networks that adhere to all applicable standards, including architecture, security, privacy, compliance, etc.

  • Design, engineer, implement, and optimize LAN/WAN/WiFi networks for the Corporate product, adhering to all applicable standards.
  • Manage network service and circuit capacity.
  • Plan and deliver projects including hardware and software specification, vendor coordination, and full operational turnover.
  • Review change plans and run books.
  • Govern third-party service providers.
  • Provide level 3 escalation support for operational issues and/or outages.
  • Collaborate with key teams including Network Architects, Test and Certification, Information Security, Finance, Procurement, etc.
  • Participate in product strategy and planning.
  • Develop new initiatives to simplify, standardize, optimize, and automate network designs, tooling, and operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in enterprise networking, with a focus on wireless, SD-WAN, and LAN infrastructure.
  • Expertise in wireless protocols, RF site surveys, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with AI platforms.
  • Experience with SD-WAN (Prisma SD-WAN preferred) including policy configuration, site provisioning, and performance tuning.
  • Understanding of fabric-based LAN architectures.
  • Proficient in Layer 2/3 networking concepts, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and multicast.
  • Skilled in network monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tools.
  • Technical knowledge of telco and ISP networks, ensuring diversity and managing availability

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including collaboration with non-Network technical teams and customers.
Other Skills and Attributes

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience creating or leveraging automation, AI, and machine learning to deploy and manage networks.
  • Development and deployment of virtualized network services.
  • Understanding of cloud networking solutions and cloud interconnects.
  • Vendor experience: Cisco LAN / WAN / WiFi; HPE/Mist WiFi; Palo Alto Networks FW and SDWA NetScout, Thousand Eyes, NetMRI, ServiceNow, Oracle SBCs and VOIP.
  • Exposure to CCaaS environments to include CXOne and others.
