Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough validation of electrical products by executing functional, design & operational tests in accordance with applicable IEC/UL/NEMA standards.
  • Monitor test results and ensure compliance with Eaton's standard documentation practices.
  • Inspect the assembly of electrical products to verify adherence to referencing drawings, design literature, electrical/utility codes, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain lab equipment, prepare and process test reports, manage lab workload, track test request status, implement and maintain 5S activities, write lab reports, support safety initiatives, and participate in strategic planning for lab and equipment upgrades.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficient in reading and analyzing electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and component drawings.
  • Prepare test plans based on applicable standards (ANSI/UL, IEC, CSA, & NEMA) for various types of electrical products.
  • Perform and monitor electrical tests (e.g., Hi-Pot, Current Injection, Endurance, Temp. Rise, Visual Inspections) according to standards (ANSI/UL, IEC, CSA, & NEMA).
  • Analyze and troubleshoot test results using engineering calculations and system-level analysis tools, drawing conclusions based on test data.
  • Support capital equipment upgrades and strategic road mapping for the test lab to identify equipment enhancements, capacity increases, and new technologies for remote monitoring and control (Industry 4.0).
  • Order miscellaneous materials and low-value assets as required for setup and testing, and create/maintain documentation according to ISO-9001, ISO-17025, ISO-14001, and ISO-45001 systems, providing performance trends.
  • Ensure compliance with 5S and safety requirements per MESH guidelines, maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe workplace.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
  • 10-12 years of experience in validating electrical products.
  • End-to-end test planning expertise.
  • Ability to work on multiple product lines and test stands.
  • Review test setup and checklists before test execution.
  • Lead problem-solving using specific methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in testing LV/MV switchgears, circuit breakers, ACBs, MCBs, RCCBs, MCCBs, panel boards, RMUs, VCBs, contactors, motor starters, PCC, MCC, wiring devices, plug and sockets.
  • Solid knowledge of IEC/IEEE/ANSI/NEMA/UL standards.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical and electronics industrial products.
  • Experience in competitor teardowns and benchmarking for electrical products.
