Job Title: Advanced Math Research Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and accomplished researcher to join our team as an Advanced Math Research Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, analytical skills, and the ability to solve complex problems with clear reasoning.

The role involves working on research projects that aim to fine-tune and evaluate large language models (LLMs) in mathematics and STEM fields. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and collaborate with a global network of experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the number of real symmetric matrices of rank 2 whose entries are only 0 or 1.
  • Analyze subsets of a set with specific characteristics.
  • Evaluate distinct numbers based on certain conditions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Academic Background: PhD/Postdoc in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to solve advanced math problems with clear and structured reasoning.
  • Communication Skills: Clarity in explaining complex topics and providing feedback with precision.
  • Research Independence: Ability to work independently in a remote research environment and participate actively in team discussions.
  • Technical Setup: Access to a reliable computer and internet setup to participate in remote assignments.

Benefits:

  • Flexible Work Schedule: Work at least 4 hours per day and minimum 20 hours per week with 4 hours of overlap with PST.
  • Contract Duration: 1 month; expected start date is next week.
  • Task-based Assessment: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a task-based assessment followed by a contract offer with defined timelines and workload.
