High-Performance System Administrator

The Unix Team is responsible for the administration and support of operating systems installed on all infrastructures and technologies that use UNIX and Linux. As a Senior engineer, you will take a lead role in administering and managing all Unix OS instances, directly attached storage infrastructure, supporting virtualization, containers, and clustering.
Responsibilities:- Manage incidents, changes, configurations within agreed SLA and OLAs;
- Ensure systems are documented in UNIX knowledge base wiki to an appropriate standard;
- Involve in Project and Disaster recovery;
- Communicate with stakeholders, including third parties, regarding incidents, changes, and other tasks, ensuring timely and accurate information;
- Adhere to accepted procedures and capture metrics;
- Communicate with change raisers, management, technicians, including third parties, regarding change requests and their progress;
- Perform custodian roles assigned by the tower lead.
- A quick learner with a strong ability to understand the root cause of issues;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work within a team;
- Good working relationships with stakeholders;
- Ability to assess the relative importance of assigned tasks and prioritize effectively;
- Demonstrate and practice adherence to internal controls and standards in data management and document management.
- RedHat Linux version 6, 7, and 8;
- Oracle Solaris 10 and 11 (preferred);
- Logical Domain, Zones (preferred);
- HP UX, AIX, Veritas Cluster, and storage foundation (preferred);
- VMware SAN experience on RedHat and Solaris; HDS HP;
- Shell scripting, bash;
- Desirable technical skills: Veritas netback overview, LDAP, RedHat Directory Services, RPM packaging experience, VMware SRM, HP Dell Blade, Perl, Python.
