Linux Performance Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Linux Performance Engineer to drive performance improvements across the entire Linux stack.

Job Summary

  • As a Linux Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing system performance on the full Linux spectrum, including kernel, drivers, user-space services, and applications.
  • You will develop and deploy performance monitoring and tracing tools to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with various teams, such as kernel, power, graphics, boot, and user-space teams, to enhance system responsiveness and throughput.
  • Optimize key areas like boot time, application launch latency, and system suspend/resume cycles for improved end-user experience.
  • Tune scheduler, interrupt handling, memory management, and I/O subsystems for target hardware platforms.
  • Evaluate system performance under diverse workloads (interactive, background, thermal stress) and ensure consistent behavior.
  • Work closely with hardware and firmware teams to align software performance with platform power and thermal constraints.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in Linux performance analysis and tuning on embedded or consumer platforms.
  • possess deep knowledge of Linux internals, including process scheduling, memory management, NUMA, file systems, block devices, I/O stack, etc.
  • Be proficient with performance tools, such as perf, top, htop, vmstat, iotop, powertop, ftrace, strace, systemtap, LTTng, eBPF, systemd-analyze, bootchart, blktrace, oprofile.
