Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Water Treatment Specialist to oversee the operation, maintenance, and quality assurance of a Demineralisation (DM) Water Treatment Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted and high-purity water supply for boiler and turbine operations, in full compliance with operational efficiency and environmental regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plant Operation & Water Quality Management: Operate and supervise the entire DM water treatment process, including RO (Reverse Osmosis), EDI (Electrodeionization), Softener, Degasser Tower, and Mixed Bed units.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Monitoring: Ensure optimal performance and preventive maintenance of DM plant equipment, dosing systems, pumps, and control panels.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain daily logs, chemical usage records, test reports, and regeneration schedules.
  • Boiler Interface: Collaborate with boiler operations team to ensure feedwater and steam chemistry compliance (oxygen scavenger dosing, phosphate control, etc.).
  • Team Supervision & Safety: Supervise a team of water treatment technicians/operators and conduct training on safe plant operation and emergency response.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Environmental Science.
  • 5-10 years of experience in DM plant operations in thermal or biomass power plants, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/in-charge role.
  • Expertise in DM water production and boiler feedwater treatment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and boiler chemistry guidelines.
  • Leadership, documentation, and root cause analysis skills.
