HPC System Administration Role

Job Summary:

Our organization is seeking an experienced HPC system administrator to oversee the management and maintenance of our High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters.

Responsibilities:

  • Administering HPC clusters, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Managing user accounts for HPC onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Creating and maintaining AMI images in designated accounts.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems on HPC clusters.
  • Supporting HPC components and native services by coordinating with respective providers.
  • Maintaining AWS Managed Active Directory and implementing necessary compliance controls.
  • Upgrading the HPC platform and related components, including OS, Java, Python, and EFPortal.
  • Implementing and maintaining necessary compliance controls, conducting regular audits, and sharing findings with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with other teams to test and migrate engineering applications to the platform.
  • Managing job schedulers such as Slurm or LSF.
  • Utilizing node provisioning tools like Werewolf.
  • Troubleshooting system issues and providing technical support to users.
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring optimal operation of the HPC environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in HPC system administration.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Progressive experience in HPC system administration.
  • Proficiency in Redhat/CentOS Linux environments.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud formation templates to build infrastructure for HPC and storage solutions.
