
Retail Operations Director

This role oversees the daily operations of a high-end retail store, focusing on delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth.
The Store Manager is responsible for:
- Managing all aspects of daily store operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, and POS systems.
- Maintaining a luxurious environment through visual merchandising, cleanliness, and ambience.
- Implementing seasonal campaigns, festive promotions, and new collection launches as directed by head office.

- Develop and execute seasonal campaigns, festive promotions, and new collection launches in alignment with head office directives.
- Drive sales revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to exceed monthly targets.
- Deliver personalized styling guidance to customers, focusing on sarees, blouses, and accessories to enhance their shopping experience.
- Address escalated customer queries efficiently, ensuring smooth exchange/return processes that meet company standards.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with loyal customers, promoting membership/loyalty programs to foster customer retention.
- Recruit, train, and supervise sales staff, stylists, and support personnel to optimize team performance.
- Monitor staff performance, set realistic targets, and conduct regular team meetings to motivate and engage the team.
- Foster a positive team culture, encouraging staff to deliver exceptional ethnic wear shopping experiences.
- Oversee stock movement, replenishment, tagging, and barcoding to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Minimize stock loss/shrinkage by implementing effective stock control measures and providing timely feedback on bestsellers and customer preferences.
- Supply market insights and trends to the merchandising team, informing strategic purchasing decisions.
- Develop and execute in-store events, such as saree showcases, draping workshops, and wedding collection previews, to drive engagement and conversion.
- Collaborate with marketing to coordinate influencer visits, live streaming, and customer engagement activities.
- Promote store offers and exclusive collections through local channels and social media collaborations to maximize brand visibility.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly sales and footfall reports to inform business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with billing, GST, and company policies to maintain operational excellence.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment within the store.
- Proven leadership and people management skills to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English, Bengali, and Hindi to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of ethnic wear fabrics, draping styles, and customer preferences to provide expert guidance.
- A customer-centric mindset with strong problem-solving skills to address customer concerns.
- Ability to thrive in high-footfall seasons (Durga Puja, weddings, festivals) and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Proficiency in billing software, POS systems, and MS Office to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
