About the Role

Cisco is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Service Reliability Specialist to join our Webex Platform organization. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with software development, operations, IaaS, and incident command teams to deliver high availability cloud services to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on platform reliability, ensuring deployment designs avoid pitfalls of large scale SaaS offerings.
  • Drive a shift in thinking towards a DevOps approach, collaborating with IaaS, Operations, and Software Development teams throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Develop infrastructure and application capacity models.
  • Define critical metrics, health-check APIs, monitoring & alarming thresholds.
  • Focus on service availability, reducing MTTR by assisting the incident command, operations, and IaaS teams to diagnose & resolve service outages.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Ribbon and/or Oracle SBCs.
  • 3+ years in a traditional operations or SRE role supporting VoIP applications and services.
  • 2+ years of Linux experience with bash/shell scripting or the following technologies: networking (IPv4/IPv6) and various protocols (such as SIP, RTP, TLS, DNS, etc.).
  • 1+ years of experience with virtualization (VMWare/Openstack/etc) and/or public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI, etc.) and containerization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge/experience with PSTN and/or VoIP and relevant protocols such as SIP, H.323, RTP, various media codecs (G.711, Opus, H.264, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience with supporting/facilitating NNI, SIP trunking including encryption.
  • Experience operating voice and video collaboration services/infrastructure.
  • Ability to demonstrate a data-driven approach to solving problems, influencing direction, and driving solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
