Mainframe Storage Expert Wanted for High-Tech OrganizationJob Title: Mainframe SME Storage AdministratorWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Mainframe SME Storage Administrator.Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage DASD volumes, add new tape volumes, and perform space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress/Reclaim/Release/Cleaning of datasets.
  • Manage and define SMS rules and ACS routines.
  • Maintain DFHSM & Catalogs.
  • Perform storage dataset reorganization.
  • Generate all types of storage reports, SMF, and Dcollect.
  • Manage DR environment for DR readiness and execution.
  • Configure and manage storage boxes (DASD & Tape).
  • Migrate data between storage boxes (DASD to DASD and Tape to Tape).
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in managing DASD and tape data storage in Mainframe environments.
  • Strong knowledge of z/OS, DFSMS, ISMF, NaviQuest, DFSMSHSM, DFSMSdss, DFSMSdfp, DFSMSrmm, ICF Catalog, IDCAMs, ICKDSF, VSAM, and Non-VSAM Datasets.
  • Practical experience with Z/OS Operating System, TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM, JES2.
  • Knowledge of vendor products for storage management, including IBM, CA, FDR products, and storage monitoring tools (Omegamon XE for storage, BMC-SRM, CA-Vantage).
  • Experience with data extraction, analysis, and reporting from Dcollect/Tape Management/BVIR reports/SMF.
  • Working knowledge of REXX for task simplification and automation.
  • Replication technologies, including IBM Metro Mirror, IBM Global Mirror, and other IBM Multi-site replication setup.
  • Disk Replication management products, including CSM & GDPS.
  • Expertise in storage hardware subsystems, including IBM DASD (DS8K), IBM Automated tape library, and IBM Virtual tape library (TS7700/TS7720/TS7740/TS7760/TS7770).
