Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic procurement leader to oversee our solar EPC projects' procurement function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving end-to-end procurement, developing vendor strategies, ensuring cost optimization, and leading efficient sourcing of key materials and services.

The role demands in-depth knowledge of solar project procurement, including PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, and Balance of Systems (BoS). The procurement leader will play a critical leadership role in cross-functional coordination and ensuring seamless execution of supply chain operations aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement process, including strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Drive procurement planning aligned with project timelines and organizational goals.
  • Manage key vendor relationships at a senior level.

Vendor Development & Management:

  • Identify and onboard reliable vendors for solar components and services.
  • Conduct regular vendor evaluations and audits for quality, performance, compliance, and cost.
  • Negotiate long-term contracts and strategic alliances with suppliers.

Cost Optimization & Commercial Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement cost-control strategies to optimize procurement spend.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and conduct thorough commercial evaluations.
  • Benchmark pricing and procurement terms across the industry.

Process Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure full compliance with internal procurement policies, statutory guidelines, and project specifications.
  • Maintain transparent documentation and reporting mechanisms for audits and internal controls.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Finance, and Logistics teams.
  • Monitor material requirement plans and proactively address supply risks or delays.
  • Resolve escalated supplier disputes or operational bottlenecks.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor the procurement team to build capability and performance.
  • Establish KPIs, monitor progress, and drive process improvements across the department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in procurement for solar EPC projects.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar PV modules, inverters, and BoS components.
  • Proficient in ERP tools (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office suite.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to lead change and optimize procurement systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical) or Supply Chain Management.
  • MBA in Operations / Supply Chain (preferred).

Experience:

  • 18–20 years of procurement experience, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in the solar or renewable energy industry, particularly in EPC procurement.

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • PMP (particularly for large-scale project procurement roles)
