About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Component Engineer to join our team in Bangalore - Indraprastha, India.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for products, equipment, and systems. Your primary focus will be on the validation of selected components and providing feedback where applicable. You will also suggest alternative components when suitable ones exist in the Thales preferred parts list or already exist in the Thales component library.

You will provide technical advice and assistance, such as training, and identify obsolescence issues and provide replacement/alternative parts/components to meet project/customer reliability, safety, and legislative requirements.

Core Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of components and their relation to our products.
  • Identify obsolescence issues arising in our products, systems, and projects.
  • Analyze work packages related to services offered by component engineering (e.g., RoHS, REACh, Trade Compliance, Counterfeit management, LTB, and PCN notices, and data cleansing activities).
  • Understand and manage different solutions required within different scenarios (e.g., Materials, Chemicals, Standards, Software).
  • Manage workload and communicate issues in a timely manner that does not impact upon the delivery of support to the customer.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Initiate, approve, issue, and present any documentation covering this work.
  • Produce estimates for packages of work.
  • Disseminate component knowledge and component application within the company.
  • Liaise with other team members, groups, and subcontractors on technical matters.
  • Report upon the progress of component-related information requests.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety and security procedures.
  • Manage related alerts (e.g., quality, counterfeit).
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • B.E/B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or Electrical engineering or equivalent with 8-12 years of relevant experience.
