About the RoleThe mechanical team at Tejas Networks plays a vital role in defining the physical appearance and functionality of our products. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design and development of mechanical systems and components for telecom equipment, including enclosures, heat sinks, racks, and cable management solutions.
- Developing and refining 3D models and 2D drawings using advanced CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
- Leading cross-functional teams in the execution of complex projects, from concept development through to production release.
- Managing timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring project milestones are met.
- Overseeing the prototyping process, working with suppliers and in-house teams to build and test prototypes.
Mandatory skills for this role include design validation and verification processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., NEBS: GR-63-CORE, GR-487-CORE, ETSI, TSEC). You will also need to collaborate with product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure designs are optimized for production and meet customer requirements.
Additionally, you should have excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments and levels.
