Steel Metal Furniture Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Steel and Metal Furniture Design Engineer to join our team.

This role is perfect for an individual who enjoys working in the design and development of steel furniture, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative concepts to life.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative designs for steel furniture such as tables, chairs, shelves, and storage units.
  • Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are feasible for production.
  • Analyze structural integrity of steel furniture to ensure durability and stability.
  • Select materials and finishes based on aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations.
  • Conduct research on trends in furniture design and material innovation.
  • Design prototypes for testing and modify designs based on feedback.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing materials and components.
  • Ensure designs meet safety standards, environmental regulations, and company specifications.
  • Develop estimates for production, assembly, and materials.
  • Collaborate with marketing to understand customer needs and incorporate feedback into designs.
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations for stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the steel furniture industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, particularly steel and other metals.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for steel furniture (welding, cutting, bending, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong portfolio of previous design work is a plus.
