Job Title: Furniture Designer

As a furniture designer at our organization, you will play a vital role in creating innovative and commercially viable designs for our solid wood furniture products. We are seeking an experienced professional with strong skills in CAD tools and knowledge of global furniture trends.

• Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct market research to understand customer preferences and international trends.
  • Develop original design concepts in solid wood that align with our manufacturing strengths.
  • Create production-ready drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or Rhino.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing teams to translate concepts into viable collections.
  • Work with prototyping teams to refine joinery, finishes, ergonomics, and structural integrity.
  • Incorporate KD (knock-down) joinery, export packaging standards, and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in furniture design, preferably in solid wood.
• Strong skills in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, etc.).
• Knowledge of global furniture trends, ergonomics, finishing techniques, and joinery.
• Ability to translate abstract research into commercially viable designs.
• Good communication and presentation skills.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with reclaimed or sustainable wood materials.
• Understanding of packaging and shipping for exports.
• Familiarity with American and European design preferences.
• Prior experience with export-oriented furniture markets.
