Internal Control Specialist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Control Specialist to join our team. As an Internal Control Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of our internal controls.

Your primary responsibility will be to perform control testing as part of our Control Monitoring Program to provide reasonable assurance that our internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Control Testing: Conduct thorough control testing to evaluate risk and test internal controls through an understanding of key business processes, identify opportunities for best practices and improvements, and document accurate, logical, and detailed workpapers.
  • Process Understanding: Develops and understands the SOXHub Tool (AuditBoard), including how to appropriately use it for work responsibilities, and demonstrates clear, concise, and respectful written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Promotes teamwork and develops cohesiveness in achieving organizational objectives, ability to adjust to changing schedule priorities, ability to multitask, and support and monitor controls remediation efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Strong focus on continuous improvement initiatives, proactive seeking and embracing formal and informal coaching opportunities, and assists in training new team members on controls.
Qualifications and Technical Competencies:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year relevant experience, either within a Big 4 Audit Firm or in a multi-national organization, prior experience within Risk & Compliance or Internal Control role, finance experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, energetic, self-starter, and strong focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required, other certifications preferred (CIA, CISA, etc).
